Two cool links and some nostalgia/compaining

WOTD: synkaryon n. the nucleus resulting from the fusion of male and female nuclei during fertilization

Well, today’s word of the day was fairly interesting.

So I don’t really have a set topic for today’s blog, or really anything to say at all. I’m feeling even more uncreative than usual.

So here’s a neat link: Floating Bed

I want one. I think I’d probably use it as a table instead of a bed, but it’s still pretty freaking awesome. I might also throw metal things in between just to see what happens. The article says that people with piercings should not go under the bed, but does that mean people without can? I personally think that I would be too scared that I might somehow disrupt the magnetic field and be crushed. But still, if I had a spare $1.5 million laying around I would definitely get all over that.

This is also pretty cool: Four hand guitar.

I play a little bit of guitar, but not very much, very often, or very well. I do appreciate it enough to realize how difficult it would be (well, for me -and probably most other casual players- at least), plus it just looks, and sounsd, pretty awesome.

Time has been moving too fast for me this year. I miss the lazy Sundays of my youth. For me I would wake up, go to church with my family, and then come home and read a book, hang out with a friend, or perhaps watch some tv. Now I work every Sunday, have far too much schoolwork to get done, and am lucky if I have half an hour to sit down and relax.
My life has turned into running around (seemingly aimlessly) from school to work and back again. I haven’t read a book since the last Harry Potter book came out. That’s kind of depressing.

And these are the reasons that I’m planning to break free and leave this crazy-busy version of my life. But that’s a topic for another day.

This is supposed to be Saturday’s post

WOTD: flood-gate n. 1. a gate in a stream or canal, to control the height and flow of the water; sluice 2. anything like this in controlling a flow or an outburst

So I know that it’s technically not yesterday any more. So I technically failed my goal of doing a blog post every day. But I don’t care, and I’m still counting this towards yesterday. The reasons that I didn’t update today are these:

1. I went to bed last night at 3:30am after being awake since 5:30am, and then I proceeded to wake up at 8:30am this morning to go to work.
2. As soon as I got off work I drove to New Jersey with my best friend to see his brother play in a show.
3. Due to probably completely unnecessary construction on the George Washington Bridge, I did not get home until now.

Or maybe that was one big reason, I don’t know.

So tonight is going to be short, mainly I just want to tell you about my friend’s (Nick) brother, Sean Power. He’s a really talented guy who plays multiple instruments, writes awesome lyrics, and is just really cool all around. He was not doing a solo act tonight though, he was playing guitar for Jessie Daniels. I haven’t really kept up with or listened to much Christian music lately, but she’s got an excellent voice and was very good. Also playing at the show was Jump 5. I had never heard of them before, and after hearing all the talk of Radio Disney I was almost positive that I didn’t want to. But they were strangely entertaining in their own way, and I got to meet one of the guys, Brandon, and he was pretty cool. From what Sean told me their very cool and normal people and aren’t really into the kind of music they do at all. =)

My eyelids are heavy, so it is time for sleep.
