It feels like Spring, and I like that

It’s not completely sunny out, but it’s bright, and I think that counts for something. I like the Spring a lot, it’s a good season. It’s pretty, and bird chirping, and flowery.

So check out this article: Bungie Unscrews Previously Screwed Gamer. I found this while stumbling until like 2:30 in the morning last night, and it made me happy, and wish something bad would happen to me and then someone would notice and make it ten times better. It’s like a modern tale of Job, except that his whole family didn’t get killed just because God didn’t want to lose a bet. But the real reason I’m linking it is because, first of all, I love Halo, and I should definitely play more, secondly it gives me a little faith in humanity and reminds me that despite all the death, destruction, screwing over, heartlessness, and overall shittiness that seems to plague the world, there are good people out there who actually do give a shit, and show it. I also want to show the dangers of sending things out to be repaired, or replaced or, well anything. Things like this happen at my job all the time, we’ll send stuff out to our service center, and something will just get more screwed up, or ruined, or something like that. I think the problem lies with any individual service center, where things have to be sent out and there is no customer interaction. It’s a lot easier for a technician to do a crappy job or wash someones customized autographed Xbox 360 when they know that they will never have to deal with that customer. When we do repairs in the store at work, we have to interact directly with the customer and let them know if anything gets messed up or changed or destroyed. We also have to do that for anything that our service center fucks up. So, caveat emptor, you always have to be careful when you let other people touch your stuff!

Yeah, that’s the lesson for today.

Also, I’m planning to go to ConnectiCon 2008, so if anyone wants to hit that up with me, let me know, and I’ll see about getting a group together. Good times will be had by all.

Yesterday my manager and I had a discussion on whether or not I could technically say “I’m going to work” when I don’t really do any work. So we decided that I’d have to say I’m going to my job, or my place of employment. So it’s time to get dressed and pack my lunch and head off to my place of employment.
